Privacy should not need
a detective.
The JollyPod website uses no tracking and sets no cookies. The app needs to contact podcast publishers to fetch the shows and episodes you request.
1. Who is responsible
JollyPod is provided by Simon Zryd in Switzerland. For privacy questions or requests, contact [email protected].
2. This website
This website does not use analytics, advertising trackers, or cookies. Like most hosting providers, the infrastructure serving the site may temporarily process technical request information such as an IP address, timestamp, requested page, browser information, and security events. This is used to deliver and protect the site.
3. Data used by the app
JollyPod stores the information needed to provide podcast playback and your chosen setup. Depending on the features you use, this can include:
- podcast subscriptions and OPML files you import or export;
- your inbox, queue, playback progress, and per-podcast settings;
- downloaded episodes and MP3 files you choose to add; and
- subscription entitlement information needed to unlock paid features.
This information is used to operate the app. Data stored on your devices, in backups, or through system-level synchronisation is also subject to the Apple settings and services you choose.
4. Podcast publishers and media hosts
To find, update, stream, or download a podcast, JollyPod contacts the relevant podcast directory, RSS feed, publisher, or media host. Those third parties receive ordinary network information, including your IP address and details of the requested resource. Their own privacy policies apply. Podcast content and availability are controlled by the publishers, not JollyPod.
5. Apple services and subscriptions
TestFlight distribution, App Store purchases, subscriptions, refunds, and related store services are provided by Apple. Apple processes payment and account data under its own terms and privacy policy. JollyPod does not receive your full payment-card details. It may receive a transaction or entitlement status so the app can recognise an active subscription.
6. Support messages
If you email support, the message, your email address, and any technical details you provide are used to answer you and investigate the issue. Please do not send passwords or information that is not needed for support.
7. Retention and security
Support correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably needed to resolve requests, maintain a record of important technical issues, or meet legal obligations. App data remains under the controls provided by the app and your device. Reasonable technical and organisational safeguards are used, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to receive certain data in a portable form. You may also have the right to complain to a data-protection authority. In Switzerland, the competent federal authority is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.
To make a request, email [email protected]. Identity may need to be verified before a request can be completed.
9. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when JollyPod changes or legal requirements develop. The date at the top shows the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate channel.
